Steps to care for your inflatable hot tub

- Weekly
- Test the water pH and aim for 7.2-7.8 pH
- Clean the filter (instructions should come in your manual)
- Monthly / every other month
- Drain the hot tub and clean out with a mild detergent and water
- Fill up with fresh water
- Yearly/ or more
- Replace your filter every 2-3 years
Do you leave your inflatable hot tub on all the time?
Yes, you should leave your inflatable hot tub on all the time because that will use less energy and maintain the water better than turning it on and off. However, you can store a portable hot tub during the winter months if you don’t plan to use it. Additionally, you do not have to leave the pump on all of the time to keep it inflated.
How often does an inflatable hot tub need to be cleaned?
An inflatable hot tub should be cleaned with each use, or at least weekly. That’s because bacteria can easily build-up, especially in hot water. Using sanitiser kills the bacteria and keeps you safe and healthy.
What chemicals are good to use in an inflatable hot tub?
Calcium, chlorine and bromine are potential options for use in your inflatable hot tub. However, we recommend using the MSpa all-in-one chemical treatment kit and our cleaning accessories. The starter kit includes everything you need to care for your blow up hot tub:
- Chlorine – for sanitising your water
- pH Minus – to reduce pH level
- pH Plus – to increase pH level
- Foam Remover – to eliminate extra foam from your spa
- Test Strips – to regularly test your pH level
- Measuring Spoons – to get just the right amount of each chemical!
Additionally, many of our models come with a UVC sanitizer to kill over 60 disease-causing microorganisms. The light is safe for your skin and eyes because it’s sealed into the control box, and it will keep your water sterilized.
How long do inflatable spas last?
On average, an inflatable spa lasts for five years. If well-maintained, your blow up hot tub can last even longer.
